Santa Maria Novella
The Basilica of Santa Maria Novella is located in the homonymous square in Florence.
It is not one of the most visited attractions in Florence but it is one of the most important Gothic churches in Tuscany.
The exterior is the work of Leon Battista Alberti and Fra Jacopo Talenti while inside there are masterpieces such as Masaccio’s Trinity, Giotto’s Crucifix and Ghirlandaio’s frescoes in the Tornabuoni Chapel.
The plan of the Basilica is attributed to Brunelleschi who also took care of the Dome of the Duomo.
